ABOUT US

Our Story
HOUSTON, TX – Inspired by passion and driven by a shared vision, two cigar enthusiasts set out to redefine the luxury cigar experience in Houston. The result: STOA OF HOUSTON, an exclusive haven for those who appreciate the artistry, ritual, and camaraderie that come with a fine cigar.
Like many great ventures, STOA was born out of necessity—an unmet need in the market. The founders, JOHN BOYERT and MIKE NGUYEN, met through a shared love for cigars, bonding over their experiences at a local lounge.
Our Story
JOHN BOYERT an entrepreneur known for revolutionizing the firearms industry, brought his visionary leadership. MIKE NGUYEN, a highly respected general contractor with a deep-rooted presence in Houston’s restaurant and real estate industries, provided the expertise to craft a world-class venue.
Together, they traveled the country, visiting the most renowned cigar lounges, studying their strengths and shortcomings. They combined the best elements of each, refining their vision into what would become one of the largest and most sophisticated cigar lounges in the nation.

Our Commitment
STOA is more than just a cigar lounge—it’s an escape. Whether unwinding after a long day, engaging in meaningful conversations, or simply savoring a fine cigar in solitude, the founders sought to create an environment that embodies the essence of cigar smoking. Stoa is committed to providing an unmatched atmosphere, equipped with a state-of-the-art air purification system, custom Spanish cedar cigar lockers, and an environment tailored to “The Fine Art of Doing Nothing”—the philosophy embraced by its founders.
